Fashion Photography 101

Shoot7

This we had to do, so we entered the village and this was the entrance, we knew from the start that we had to use the accessories that the people were selling, so I placed myself between them and this is the result ;)

Location: Cultural village, Hartbeespoort South Africa

Quick tip:
Pencil skirt: suitable for an hourglass, inverted-triangle and rectangular shaped figure. As mentioned in my previous post, the tips are the same.

My experience:
I had such an awkward experience in this place but was happy with the results of the pictures in this market. The ladies were too cute and made it even more enjoyable.
This is Africa alright, really had the real South African cultural experience at this village.

Shoot6

So Gcebile found this amazing cultural village, when we arrived :O we decided to take 3 different shoots there, so we'll have variety of different outfits just because we wanted to shoot everything in this village.
Here's a look at the 1st one ;)

Location: Lesedi Cultural Village (a few kilometres out, but still in Hartbeespoort South Africa)

Quick tip:
Pencil skirts, as in my previous post are suitable to an hourglass, inverted-triangle and rectangular shaped figure. An apple figure can wear this outfit if the waistline of the skirt is at the smallest part of the torso, pulling attention away from the bigger waistline.

My experience:
As you might remember this skirt from Bali, I literally just threw it in my bag, just in case I needed another outfit, so I clearly needed it :D
This was real South African, everything in this village was really just straight from way back when. Very down to earth, so no stress in shooting ;)

Fashion vs Nature

Day 28

I did a bit of sight-seeing, like I've been doing everyday these days :)
Had to put away the fancy long skirts as I had to sit on a motorbike for not less than 1 and a half hours, so everything these days are more casual and relaxed for beach vibes.

I had to get dressed in a minute, so outfit wasn't really thought through because I didn't know where I was going, but nonetheless..had to get dressed just to leave the house :D

Location: Bali center

Quick tip
This outfit can be worn by all body types, as my skirt wasn't too tight (extreme weight loss in this heat) a pear shaped would fit it and it would sit perfectly. As the top isn't tight, an apple shaped figure will make this outfit work too. This outfit will work on all figures because nothing is really emphasized.

My experience
I actually didn't have an idea where I'll be going today, so was chilled. Main concern was not getting hot, so anything that wasn't tight on my body would be ideal, so managed to make it work in that regard.
Bali is beautiful and very chilled, you literally can't get worked up here, so had a relaxed day, spent more than 4hours on a bike, so was exhausted afterwards, but it was so worth the day out ;)

Fashion vs trapped inside

Day 25

I realized that I don't have a young, youthful type of look, so I made this dress :)
The location to be honest is beautiful, was trying to find the right location and then I remembered this place ;) It's amazing how an outfit can change the mood of a person because, I really felt youthful in this outfit :)

Location: The Olive, Windhoek
Hair and makeup by Scizzorz Edge
Jewellery by NamiPend

Quick tip
This shirt dress can be worn by all figures. If you want to break it with a belt or not, it will work either way, although once a belt it applied and placed on the smallest part of the torso, it will sit perfectly, not showing any imperfections.

My experience
This was a fun shoot, think the outfit was to blame. Once clothes hug your body too much, it just starts getting uncomfortable, so this was just a perfect shoot for a chilled afternoon.
I love this place, the Namibian inspired decor makes this venue truly Namibian, soo I had no choice but to take pictures here for a taste of Namibia.

Fashion vs Nature

Day 14

As I am on pants these days, I made something different today.
My location is at the golf course, so very laid back and all attention on the pants :)
I chose this location for this shoot as the golf course has an amazing open space, so went there for a quick shoot, just to show the pants and explain it.

Location: Country Club Golf Course, Windhoek
Necklace by NamiPend Namibia

Quick tip
This pants will suit an hourglass, apple figure and an inverted-triangle shaped figure. These bootleg pants are perfect for those who have long slender legs, not too much hips as pear- shaped figures hips will be very evident, but can wear this pants if there will be a blazer that falls on the hips, hiding the hips a bit. Although an apple figure needs a loose chiffon type of top that wont call attention to the waist area.  This pants just needs to be styled correctly, so that the imperfections can be out of the way and still have you looking amazing.
A bootleg pants isn't really what I am comfortable in. Haven't worn one since high school, so this was just to demonstrate what and how bootlegs can do. When it's on the waist it elongates the legs for those who are short, will give extra length.

My experience
This was a quick shoot just to emphasize this type of pants. I haven't been to the golf course in a while, so was good going back to see how green it is.
Was a brief visit but we all remember the Country Club from way back when;) was just soo much greener, which is beautiful.

Fashion vs trapped inside

Day 11

I am still in Windhoek, need to come up with some inspiring casual looks, things out of the norm so that those who like dressing up can come up with ways to make their outfits more fashionable.
I haven't done anything with pants, so I took the closest pants I could find and just made a top that is flattering.

I have a thing for Kimonos, think it's cos it's a lazy but beautiful concept, I added some African spice to it ;) justttt to show that Japanese and African cultures can make something beautiful.

Location: Stellenbosch restaurant and the Tasting Room, Namibia

Quick tip
Soo, this outfit it perfect for an hourglass and inverted-shaped figure. If however, the shirt is a bit longer a pear shaped figure will also be able to perfect this look, as the hips will be hidden because of the longer top. The belt can also be placed above the stomach when you have an apple figured body, pulling attention away from the stomach, although the belt width will have to be thinner.

My experience
I was looking for a great setting for a smart casual outfit, as it was raining..I couldn't really be outside and that was my initial idea, so had Stellenbosch in mind. The Italian villa setting made it very classy and romantic, also the outfit worked here. It was an amazing setting for what I had in mind, also it is a unique location, so trapped inside a villa is always a good idea :)
