Fashion Photography 101

This is my last shoot until further notice..have a collection to work on :)

I made this coat and I always wanted something like this, so had to make it work.
It was excited to end all of this on a good note, so had to come to this location.

Photo cred: Thomas Mbandeka
Location: Heroes Acre, Windhoek Namibia

Quick tip:
As my previous post, all these coats are body fitted, pencil dress shaped so suitable for an hourglass, inverted triangle and rectangular figured body.

My experience:
I have never been here before so the open space was amazing, didn't want too many bushes, so everything was in the right proportions, so could play around everywhere.
I liked it here. Memorable and historical place where we see those fought for our country.
Had to take pictures here.

Fashion Photography 101

:) I'm back in Windhoek!!

Soo, this shoot wasn't quite planned. Made these coats and didn't have time to shoot them, so asked my friend Marisa to join me, so that I only have to shoot once :D
This was a bit complex and is at night so might look a bit creepy, but think of it as artistic, then we should be good ;)

Photo cred: Dee Conradie
Location: Windhoek city center

                                             Quick tip:
I could recommend this outfit/coat/ dress coat to an hourglass, inverted-shaped and rectangular shaped figure. As this is a pencil shaped coat, hips will be emphasised  and this is body fitted.

My experience:
It was a cold night and we ran out of time, so ended up having to make it work in the dark. Had to post these coats as I was asked about coats and dress coats, so I hope I made it work.
It was cold, yet again...and dark :D This is what we managed.

Fashion vs Nature

Day 37

I have a close friend who stays in Welkom and she made me make a dress just so she can show me her photography skills. Ended up making this dress in a day,  just so she can be happy.
This ended up wayyy different from what I had expected, I never laughed so much during any of my shoots before- this was just a crazy. Sooo, design and photos taken by my special friend :)

Location: lost in Welkom

Quick tip:
This dress can be worn by all body types. It is busy at the top, so attention won't be at the shoulders or at the waistline. Also, the A-line bottom is perfect for the pear-shaped figure. If you have some imperfections, this dress will hide it well. If you have a small waist, you can add a belt or any embellishment to the waistline to call attention to that area.

My experience:
As this shoot wasn't planned at all, I had loads of fun just going out into the bushes and just not caring whether the hem of the dress got dirty or not. Even the soil was different, I really liked being outside and it showed in these pictures. Really had fun and felt reconnected with nature again <3

Shoot 8

This is the last shoot in Hartbeespoort, with my girl Gcebile.
This is really South African, so I hope you like what we came up with.
Enjoy the last shoot :)

Location: Hartbeespoort South Africa

Quick tip:
This is a pencil dress with a coat over, so this outfit, as is can be worn by all body types, as nothing is being emphasised, so everything is hidden.
If you were to wear the dress alone, I would recommend an hourglass, inverted-triangle and rectangular shaped figure would best suit this type of dress as is a body fitted dress.

My experience:
So as this is was the final shoot, I obviously found this shoot the prettiest, because of the colours. When we found this place we were so excited, so this was perfect. We didn't know what to expect when we came to this village, in the middle of nowhere, so we had nothing in mind. I just brought all the outfits I had left and this is the outcome :)

Shoot7

This we had to do, so we entered the village and this was the entrance, we knew from the start that we had to use the accessories that the people were selling, so I placed myself between them and this is the result ;)

Location: Cultural village, Hartbeespoort South Africa

Quick tip:
Pencil skirt: suitable for an hourglass, inverted-triangle and rectangular shaped figure. As mentioned in my previous post, the tips are the same.

My experience:
I had such an awkward experience in this place but was happy with the results of the pictures in this market. The ladies were too cute and made it even more enjoyable.
This is Africa alright, really had the real South African cultural experience at this village.

Shoot6

So Gcebile found this amazing cultural village, when we arrived :O we decided to take 3 different shoots there, so we'll have variety of different outfits just because we wanted to shoot everything in this village.
Here's a look at the 1st one ;)

Location: Lesedi Cultural Village (a few kilometres out, but still in Hartbeespoort South Africa)

Quick tip:
Pencil skirts, as in my previous post are suitable to an hourglass, inverted-triangle and rectangular shaped figure. An apple figure can wear this outfit if the waistline of the skirt is at the smallest part of the torso, pulling attention away from the bigger waistline.

My experience:
As you might remember this skirt from Bali, I literally just threw it in my bag, just in case I needed another outfit, so I clearly needed it :D
This was real South African, everything in this village was really just straight from way back when. Very down to earth, so no stress in shooting ;)

Shoot4

This shoot was a bit difficult, think we just didn't have the sun on our side, so it was a bit hard to get perfect shots, but this is what we managed.

Location: West Lake estate, Hartbeespoort South Africa

Quick tip:
This outfit will suit all body types as there are details to take the attention off the hips and waist area.

My experience:
Hmmm, can't say much about this shoot just that we had trouble with lighting but had to have the lake in. This was truly a beautiful location, so had to make it work somehow.
