Fashion vs Nature

Day 1

On my way to Ondangwa for shoot number one.
Had a great experience culture-wise and Namibian tradition is quite evident in the North.
The fabric used for the dress made in Ondangwa is called, Odelela. It's original colour is red and creme, dyed a lot of different colours.
The fabric was used many years ago in tradition, used by Oshiwambo's, used for weddings, all traditional occasions (being made head of a village or made a king), when a baby is born & when the baby also leaves the house for the first time and Oshiwambo's value tradition as this was dated back a few years ago.
When it's Independence Day, Oshiwambo ladies love to wear this fabric too.

When a girl becomes a woman, this fabric was also worn, so this fabric must be owned by an Oshiwambo lady.

All accessories worn are sponsored by NamCrafts

Quick tip:

Empire waist dresses are flattering for apple & pear shaped ladies, the stomach and hip areas are fully disguised.
The dress has a fitted bodice ending just below the bust, giving a high-waisted appearance. The shape of the dress also helps to lengthen the body.

My experience:

The North, a mixture of traditional culture and modern civilization is a fast growing economic zone creating vast opportunities for entrepreneurs in all spheres of life. As a fashion designer, the cultural diversity embodied in the people, the way of life, traditions, language, colours and the environment, my horizons broadened and will impact the way I look at designs for this area.
Culturally, the North is where Namibian tradition is still very active and people are proud of their cultural heritage.

Day 2 coming soon:)

Friday look

Let's look at the jumpsuit/romper for a sec.

They are proven to be quite versatile & can be styled in a range of ways, from completely casual to smart/sophisticated.
To make matters even better is that it's a complete outfit in one, so can be mixed & matched with completely anything to make a day/evening wear outfit.

Whether you have an apple shaped body, pear shaped body, petite shaped or a heavy plus size shape body, they come in different styles to suit your body shape according to your comfort level.

Garage saleeeee

Out with the old and in with the new...

So, we are already approaching the middle of the year! How time flies! It's not that long ago we were all saying 'Happy New Year'. I do hope this year is filled with only good things – one of which, being this blog, where I'll be helping out with fashion tips of all sorts, and will help you to understand the real meaning of being a woman of value through what we wear, as well as working out who we're actually trying to please.

Sooo, out with the old..taking me back to my garage sale and realizing how important it needs to be for every girl to get rid of old things, in order to bring in something new and of course better. I recommend we do a real clean up session to get rid of tight clothes, anything that will bring any sort of discomfort; while working/walking/gyming/going to school/going to church/and going to work of course..I will give examples of all these aspects throughout the year, just to help those in need of some kind of direction. Also, if you have a problem with finding the right clothes for your body type ;) then I'll be on it..

I have a lot planned, but first we need to get rid of what has been making us look inappropriate and indiscreet, so lets throw out everything from the past and make room for what I have planned for the rest of this year:)))))
